Adding, Editing and Deleting Sale Items
Listing items for sale at Stamps2Go
is done with our item entry form. Once added to our listing, items may be
edited or deleted at any time. Simply locate your item in our listing, click on
the catalog number to view the item detail page, then click on the 'Edit Item'
or 'Delete Item' button.
Following, is a detailed description of the entry fields and buttons that are
used when adding or updating a sale item at Stamps2Go.
They are described in the order they appear on the item entry/edit screen.
Upload Items From CSV File Button
If you have a large number of items to list, you may be able to upload your sale listings in a comma-delimited file. See the section Uploading Items for detailed information.
Seller ID
This is your Stamps2Go user
ID. This field is filled in automatically for you, and may not be changed.
Listing Date
This will always be the current date. This field is filled in automatically for
you, and may not be changed.
Ref#
Enter your own reference number for this sale item. This should be a
unique number for each item you list for sale. Allowable characters in the Ref#
are upper/lower case letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores and parentheses.
Save Button
Click the Save button when you have entered all information and are ready to save changes to the item.
Clear Button
Clicking the Clear button will clear all the entry fields.
Cancel Button
Click the Cancel button if you would like to exit the screen without saving the new item or updating an existing item.
Featured Items
You may elect to make any item a Featured Item by checking this box. If you are editing an item that is already a Featured Item, a message will be displayed showing how many featured "clicks" are left.
Featured Items appear in a column at the right side of the Stamps2Go listing, and include a thumbnail image of the item. In order to qualify as a Featured Item, the item must include an image. The Featured Item fee is charged immediately when you save a Featured Item by deducting the amount from your Stamps2Go account. You will not be able to create a Featured Item if your Stamps2Go account contains insufficient funds.
For more detailed information about Featured Items see the section, "Featured Items" in the Stamps2Go help.
Image Selection
You have the option of providing an image for each sale item. You will find that stamps (especially high-priced ones) are more likely to sell if a buyer can view the item before purchase. For inexpensive items (less than a few dollars) an image is not as important. The image selection options are grouped together and may be selected by clicking one of the three radio buttons on the entry form.
When you select the image option, the image will immediately be loaded and
displayed in the Image Preview portion of the screen. This may take a few
seconds.
Reference Image Only
When you provide an image for your sale item, you have the option of using an actual image of the item for sale, or a reference image showing a likeness of the item. For example, rare used stamps would normally be accompanied by an actual image. However, when selling newer mint stamps, a reference image may be all that is needed.
If the image you provided is only a reference image, you must check the Reference Image Only checkbox. This causes a message to be displayed below the image on the item detail screen telling the buyer that this is not an image of the actual item for sale.

Price
The selling, or asking price of the item. The currency will always be in U.S.
dollars. If the item you are viewing is for a lot, a set, or a packet of items,
the price shown here will be for the entire lot, set, or packet.
Quantity Available
Normally, when you are selling a stamp, it is a unique item with specific characteristics. This is particularly true for old, rare, and postmarked stamps. However, if you have more than one item that is identical, or that is at least as good as the description you provide in your listing, you may enter a quantity greater than 1.
For example, if you have a quantity of newer mint stamps, chances are good that all of them are almost perfectly centered, and in very fine or superb condition. Or, if you have a quantity of low-value stamps which are all the same catalog number, and all of them are graded 'Fine' or better, you may want to list them all in one listing with a grade of fine.
Please note that when an image is provided for items with a quantity greater than 1, the 'Reference Image Only' checkbox must be checked, since it would be impossible for the supplied image to be of the exact item for sale.
When a stamp is listed with a quantity available of greater than 1, it will
appear only once in the Stamps2Go
listing. However, when one is sold, the item will continue to be listed until
the quantity available reaches zero.
Detailed Description & Comments
Enter a description of the item for sale. It is particularly important to
accurately document any defects in the item that cannot be seen from the image
(if provided). Advertisements, website URLs, and E-mail addresses are
discouraged, and in some cases may be removed by Stamps2Go
at our discretion.
