Item Detail Page

The item detail page gives you a complete description of an item that you have selected from the item listing. Before adding an item to your shopping cart, be sure to carefully review the information on the item detail page to make sure it meets your requirements.

The following information is shown on the item detail page...

Image

If the seller has provided a link to an image of the item for sale, it will be displayed at the left side of the item detail page. We encourage sellers to provide an image for all items they are selling ... especially those that are selling for more than a few dollars. Buyers should keep in mind that some low-value stamps may not include images, since it takes a lot of work for sellers to scan an image of every single item.

In some cases, the image provided by a seller may be a reference, or "generic" image of a stamp, instead of an image of the actual item for sale. This is sometimes done for low-value stamps, where individual scanning is cost-prohibitive. Whenever a seller indicates that a generic image is used, a disclaimer caption will appear below the stamp image.

Country

The issuing country for the item. If you are listing a mixture that contains stamps from more than one country, you may select "Mixed" as the country.

Catalog #

The Catalog number for the item. When an item is listed for sale on Stamps2Go, we check the catalog number to make sure it conforms to the catalog numbering format, however it is up to sellers to make sure that the number is a valid catalog number.

Year

The year the stamp was issued. Note that this could be the issue date, or it might be the date of first use. This field is optional, and may not be included for mixtures.

Denomination

The monetary denomination of the stamp. This field is optional, and may not be used for sets or mixtures.

A brief description of the stamp issue, the design, or the subject.

The topic or theme that has been assigned to this stamp.

Format

The Format tells you the type, or configuration of the item. See Format Guidelines for more information.

Grade

The grade of the stamp, as assigned by the seller. Keep in mind that philatelic grading is a very subjective art, and each seller may grade items differently. See Grading Guidelines for more information.
